Baby Height Predictor
Enter parent heights and child sex to estimate your baby's adult height using the Tanner mid-parental method.
How the Tanner Height Predictor Works
The Tanner mid-parental height method uses a simple formula based on parent heights and the child's sex:
- Boys: (Mother's height + Father's height + 13 cm) / 2
- Girls: (Mother's height + Father's height − 13 cm) / 2
The 13 cm adjustment accounts for the average sex-based height difference between men and women. The formula then divides by 2 to find the mid-point.
The standard deviation for this method is ±8.5 cm, meaning the actual adult height will typically fall within 8.5 cm above or below the prediction.
